My birthday Tomorrow..

My birthday is tomorrow. For some reason, I will feel like I have failed God, my family and myself for my present position in life right now. Questions like “God you know how hard I worked hard and how I tried to make time for you.” I did everything in my power to conquer failure but at the end that was my result.

The last few years has taught me the power of my thoughts. I can use my mind to build or destroy my future. That’s exactly what happened, I used my mind prior to me starting this journey to destroy my own future. The bible says he has set before us blessings and curses (Deu 30:19). We have the power to chose. Yes, we have already made our decisions by our thoughts. I choose to nurture failure, fear, defeat that wasn’t his will for me. I nurtured it in the womb of my mind till I conceived it. I am not who people say I am, I am who I created myself to be by my thoughts

A wise book taught me not to blame others for my mistakes. The bible says “as a man thinks in his heart so is he”-Prov. 23:7 This scripture is absolutely true. My life conceived my thoughts and reflected how I really saw myself. It showed the depth of my unbelief to not cast my cares upon him. God’s word is black and white with no hidden secrets except mysteries that are yet to be revealed.

What am I trying to say? I am living the reality, I imagined. What are you imagining? Where is your imagination taking you? My motivation to study day-in and out was because I wanted to conquer failure. Failure consumed my thoughts with every waking moments. I’d channel my life around my class room and the library. I cut off most of my friends because of the fear of failure. It dominated my thoughts that nothing else mattered to me than studying not to show myself approved unto God but to undermined my thoughts. I thought if I studied more, I defeat this impending doom.

My motivation to please God in my studies became a minority in my thought life while fear became the majority. I studied in and out. It really wasn’t going anywhere because if you don’t pause to defeat fear, the enemy will use it in such a way to defeat you. I mediated on 2 Tim 1: 7 “God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind”…but I didn’t study it long enough to completely wither the thoughts.

The enemy will tell you fear is ok. My brothers and sisters in Christ don’t buy into that lie. Fear is antagonist to Faith. The enemy responds to fear. God responds to Faith. Fear gives the enemy access into our lives. Faith moves God to do something. Fear is a spirit, and God has not given us such spirit. God has already equipped us with everything we need to be successful. Colossians 2:10 says we are “complete in him”.. are u? Am I?

I am learning to grasp the future I want by changing my thinking to line up with God’s word. In a few hours, I will celebrate another one yr added to me. Yes, I am not where I want to be at this age but am optimistic about tomorrow because I know who holds my future.

Nigerian Students in USA

God has blessed each and every one of us with endless opportunities by allowing us to school in the States. He gave us this platform, so we can go back to our country and give back. Let us build a generation of Nigerian students that don’t only care about helping themselves here but also, the people back at home. It is least you can do for your mother land.

Get your education and start now to think about how you will contribute to help your country.

We always talk about how someone could do this or that but we never consider that we could be the “someone.” After you graduate, it doesn’t matter how much money you make, if you don’t use your education or money to enhance your country then, you coming here is a waste.

We are the future of Nigeria.
It is our responsibility to do something!

Unconditional Praise

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Although the fig tree shall not blossom , neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail , and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

When things in your life become chaotic. Will you be able to say?
Lord, although things don’t go my way,
And I have nothing to eat,
Plus, I just got laid off,
then, I sow but I get nothing in return
and it seem everything around me is going from bad to worse.
Yet, I will rejoice in you.

It is easy to rejoice in God when everything is well with us.
Will you still rejoice in him,
when the going gets tough and tougher.
Will you still rejoice in him even the midst of pain and anguish?

God wants us to rejoice in him all the time.
Bad situations will always come.
It shouldn’t hinder our praise.

Stop letting your situation detect your level of praise.
In fact, enhance your praise in the midst of turmoil.
Let the enemy be put to Shame.

Good: Rejoice in the Lord
Bad: Rejoice in the Lord.

Don’t be a conditional praiser.

Words to Men cont.

By: Caleb Jones

When I became a man
I put away childish things
But before I became a man
I didn’t always fit the shoes of a King
I was a child trying to find his way
The toys I played with kept my eyes occupied
And left my eyes in a lustful boyish frenzy
My playmates had long legs, short skirts and soft skin
They cared enough to lie down and wallow with me often
Jezebel turned out to be my very best friend
I’d look in her eyes before ever seeing the sunrise
Every time I paid her a visit and slept in

Before I became a man
I saw how God made Adam from dust
So likewise I tried to make love out of lust
I didn’t know any better
I was taught by example
“Let your mouth spit game, but never let your heart say much, ”
I treated his daughters like beauty pageant contestants
There would be zero return on their investments
Proverbs 31 was never a criterion for my selection
Mind you, this was before I became a man.

This was about the time
that I took notes from a father figure
who really didn’t know how to be a father, go figure.
About the time that mum was a punching bag
because he was too afraid to take his frustration
out of on the world instead,
by simply enduring affliction,
yet during addiction,
he could go twelve rounds against the violent screams
of “Stop, Stop”

He was undefeated, he always won.
And I would stand in plane sight,
hoping that daddy sees,
Cos all I could say at the time was “daddy, please”
Mum didn’t deserve what she got
just because she didn’t satisfy daddy’s needs.

Before I became a man
I would unlock my daddy’s curse and free myself throw away the daddy’s key
I allowed anger to set up a construction company inside
Bitterness never rested
It left no time wasted
Whether Father loved me or not
All I could regurgitate was hatred
I became allergic to showing any form of compassion

Before I became a man
I was much shorter
Not just in height but in spiritual insight
Because I never had a picture
Nor did Pixar ever have a film
Showing me what God’s man really looked like

But when I became man
Oh, When I became a man
I learned how to love Father God right back
Even though I’m good at falling short of the glory
I reflect on my story
Through my praise I’ll self publish a testimony

When I became a man
I learned how to cry
Because I’m not ashamed of my tears
Either will my fears
muffle the groaning in my spirit.

Since I became a man
I’m not longer afraid of the dark
I’ll wrap my hands around James 5: 16
Confess, Pray, and Heal my Heart

I have discovered something
That there are medicinal qualities
Right down the corridor of introspection
When I became a man
I learned how to love her
My Esther, My Ruth
I learned how to honor her like she was Jesus’ mother
Because one day she’ll be pregnant
With the seed that will transport my legacy
So that my God and my name will both have longevity
Even after they bury me

I could not love her before
Because I was not able
My insecurities and my perfectionism had me
Looking in on the next best player
That was checking in at the scorer’s table
How could I possibly be her covering?
When I was an umbrella with holes in it
But I learned to love her like I ought to
Because I want Him to be my Father and my Father-in-law
Since that’s his daughter

When I became a man
I learned to love my brother
I’ll share my heart, my hug and my hallelujah
Because a hug and a hallelujah without my heart
Leaves room for his spirit to respond with “I never knew you”
I became a man so that when he became a man
He would know a man
Who picked up the gospel and put the toys away

I will wait for you by Janette P4CM

So it seemed, that it was cool, for everyone to be in a relationship but me..
So I took matters into my own hands… and ended up with him
Him who displayed the characteristics of a CHEATER, a LIAR, an ABUSER, & a THEIF
So.. why was I surprised when he broke into my heart?

I called 911, but I was cardiac arrested for aiding and abetting,
Cause it was ME who let him in…
Claiming we were “just friends”..
It was already decided for me by the first date, that even if he wasn’t!

I was gonna make him ‘The One’..
You know… I was tired of being alone,
And I simply made up in my mind, that it was about that time so I decided to drag him along for the ride,
Cause I was always the bridesmaid & never the bride..

A virgin in the physical, but mentally just a grown woman on the corner in heat!
Who was tired of the wait!
So I was gonna make him ‘The One’.
He had a… form of Godliness… but not much..

But hey, hey I can change him! So (honey) I’ll TAKE him, I mean he’s close… enough
Ready to sell my aorta for a quarter, not knowing the value of its use to me

Arteries so clogged with MY will, it blocked HIS Will from flowing through me
So, I thank Christ that His blood pressure gave this heart an attack,
That flat lined my obscured vision, put me flat on my back
Through my ignorance He sawed,

Through my sternum He sawed & cracked open my chest
TO transplant Psalm 51:10
A new heart & a renewed right spirit within!
So now I fully understand,

Better yet I thoroughly comprehend,
How much I NEED to wait… for You.
See, the bad thing is that I knew he wasn’t you from the beginning..
Cause in the beginning was the Word

And he didn’t even sound or shine like Your Son
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,
And all he could whisper was sweet, empty nothings –
Which meant NOTHING.

He couldn’t even pray when I NEEDED him to
Asking him to fast would be absurd!
So forget about being cleansed & washed with water through the Word…
But I know You.. ?

You were already praying for me
Even never having met me
Let me assure you, I will wait for you.
I will no longer date, socialize or communicate with carbon copies of you

To appease my boredom or to quench my thirstiness I have for attention
And short-lived compliments from ‘sorta kindas’.
You know…. He ‘sort kinda’ right, but ‘sorta kinda’ wrong?
His first name LUKE,
His last name WARM.

I, I won’t settle for false companionship
I won’t lay in the embrace of his arms,
Attempting to find some closeness,
But never feeling so far apart cause, I just wanna be held
Cause ?”all I gotta do is Say” No!

NO more ‘almost sessions’ of ‘almost coming close’
Passing winks & buying drinks,
I’ma, I’ma, I’ma flirt!?
Who flirts with the ideology of,
Can you just tell me how much I can get away with & still be saved?’
NO more.

I’ll stay in my bed… alone, and write poems, about how I will wait for you :)
He won’t even come close,
Our fingers won’t even interlock
We won’t even exchange breath
Cause I have thoughts that I’ve ‘saved as’ in a file that God has only equipped you to open.

I will no longer get weighted down,
From so-called friends & family talks,
About the concern for my biological clock
When I serve the Author of Time.
Who is NOT subject to time,

But I’M subject to Him,
He has the ability to STOP, FAST FORWARD, PAUSE, or REWIND at any given time…
So if we could role play,
You would be Abraham & I would be Sara
Or you can be Isaac & I can be Rebecca – a servant’s answered prayer

I am bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh,
Made up of your rib Adam!
And once we meet, like electrons
I will be bound to your nucleus, completely indivisible atom.
We even speak the same math: 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, which really equals 1 if you add Him.

We were all created in His image,
But you have the ability to reflect, project & even detect the Son.
If I were to explain what you looked like,
You would have to look like a star,
A son of the Son..

I would gain energy simply from the light on me.
I would need you , in order to complete my photosynthesis
I await your revelation, but once again from the genesis, I will wait for you ?

And I will know you… because when you speak I will be reminded of Solomon’s wisdom,
Your ability to lead will remind me of Moses,
Your faith will remind me of Abraham,
Your confidence in God’s Word will remind me of Daniel,
Your inspiration will remind me of Paul,
Your heart for God will remind me of David,
Your attention to detail will remind me of Noah,
Your integrity will remind me of Joseph,
And your ability to abandon your own will, will remind me of the disciples,
But Your ability to love selflessly & unconditionally will remind me of Christ.

But I won’t need to identify you by any special Matthews or any special Marks,
Cause His word will be tatted all over your heart.
And you will know me, and you will find me,
Where… the boldness of Esther meets the warm closeness of Ruth.
Where the hospitality of Lydia is aligned with the submission of Mary,

Which is engulfed in the tears of a praying Hanna.
I will be the one, drenched in Proverbs 31… waiting for you.
But to my Father, my Father who has known me before I was birthed into this earth
Only if you should see fit…
I desire Your will above mine,

So even if you call me to a life of singleness,
My heart is content with YOU – the One who was sent.
YOU are the greatest love story ever told,
The greatest story ever known
You are forever my judge & I’m forever Your witness
And I pray that I’m always found on a mission about my Father’s business

Oh, I will always be Yours!
And I will always wait for You Lord, more than the watchmen wait for the morning…
More than the watchmen wait for the morning… I WILL WAIT ?

Truth

As am sitting here, my heart is in a state of steam.
Wondering and reflecting on all the beautiful things i dream.
If i ever need people, baby it is with you that i want to build my team.
Because if i got you, then it does not matter if the world is so mean.

I have never met you, but our souls have met before.
Long before our path ever cross, our story was written in gold.
Eventhough somethings bite now, i know with you it would all be right.
Because when the rain come to the ground, the fruit can only grow and bear fruit.

I can’t wait for us to team up.
Dearest it is time to win.
Just as we are destined to.
It is only when we are one.
That the victory would be complete.

Dearest, there is no mystery.
We are making history.
The truth is so real.
The truth is so sweet.
The truth is what i want to say.
The truth is that i love you.
