I want this.. I want that.. Daddy Please!

Imagine going to the mall and the cutest pair of shoes starts calling you. You stare at the item for several minutes before ignoring the urge. In life, we have to prioritize. A cute pair of shoes versus your light bill. You want the shoes but you need to pay your light bill.

spoiled kidI remember going shopping with my dad at a young age. In the store, I was like “dad, I want this, I want that”.. He got me nothing. Why didn’t he? My father understood the importance of teaching me discipline and self control at a young age. Even if my dad could afford it, he wouldn’t get it except it was necessary.

Same thing with God..
With God.. We are like God, I want to be married..have kids, big house..this and that, but then we neglect the fact that we need God more than anything and anyone in this world.

Matt 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”

I am not saying seek God to get what you want. I am saying that we have to prioritize in our relationship with God. We want plenty of stuff from God for ourselves and he is not complaining but we NEED GOD. We need to stop focusing on what we want in our relationship with God and start focusing on what we need: God!

Interracial Dating Dilemma

Living in the South,
I see a lot of black men dating white women,
No problem;
however, I don’t see a lot of black women dating white men.
It is more popular in the north than the south, i hear.

Question: why don’t we have as many interracial relationships between black women and white men?

My attempt to answer this question:

1. Black women and white men aren’t open to date outside their race.
2. Black women and white men aren’t attracted to each other.
3. Social acceptance of interracial couples is still an issue.
4. Black women are are attracted to white men who act like black men
5. White men are attracted to black women who act like white women.
6. Black men are too fine for black women to look the other way.
7. White women are too fine for white men to look the other way.

Black women: what do you think?
White men: what do you think?

Research idea for any sociologist or anthropologist out there..

A Pastor in my church said “ppl spend more time preparing for wedding more than the marriage.”  Considering the high rates of divorces today, I agree with his statement 100%. The alarming fact of the matter is that divorce is also high in the church. I think the enemy in directly attacks families by attacking marriages. Marriage should be forever.

Christian-singles-datingHollywood shocked us with 72 days of marriage. Our society doesn’t value marriage, an institution designed by God himself for a mature man and a mature woman. Rushing into a lifelong commitment is not wise and might easily end in a divorce. If people prepared more for marriage, do you think we would have less divorces? I don’t know, but I do think singles* need to take precaution in their dating relationships to approach marriage differently.

Divorce doesn’t only affect the parents, it affects the kids more. After divorce, kids have to adapt living with one parent instead of two. The child might not fully comprehend why daddy or mummy is no longer living with them. Divorces hurt children. The bible only allows divorce when infidelity is present. Divorce is a serious business to God because he doesn’t take marriage vows lightly.

Singles, marriage is not dating, you can’t just married him or her today and decide you want to divorce tomorrow. Unfortunately, people are approaching marriage like a dating game. Christian singles, if our marriage vows is important to God, we need to approach marriage in a serious sense. Society will go back on God’s word because a carnal mind can’t fully comprehend. As Christian singles, it is imperative we prepare ourselves for marriage. Marriage is a life-long commitment and shouldn’t be entered hastily.

That’s the problem with this society: quick to marry and quick to divorce.

What is Worship?

Worship is loving the people who hate me.
Worship is getting and digging into your word regardless of how I feel.
Worship is to respect my Godly parents.
Worship is praying blessings upon the people who hurt me.
Worship is forgiving the people who hurt me the most.
Worship is laying down my pride for your will in my life.
Worship is not allowing my emotions to control me.
Worship is choosing your way over mine.

Worship goes beyond lifting our hands and closing our eyes to a slow song.
Worship is simply obeying God.

Worshiping God should be our lifestyle.
In everything we do, we need to worship God.

Ladies,

We see a Black man and our heads start spinning.. LOL!!
There’s nothing wrong in thinking a guy is attractive.
However, check yourself that you don’t lust.

We are only suppose to lust after our husbands.
If you don’t have a husband,
you probably shouldn’t be lusting after anybody.

Girl, go beyond looks,
Does he love the Lord?
Not just go to Church,
does he have an intimate relationship with the Lord?

Guys are getting smart these days..
Some guys don’t just go to church,
they go to meet ladies.
We have to be wise,
going to church or singing in the choir is not enough.

You be the judge..
With the leadership of the holy spirit,
you will know if this guy is legit or not..

Please look beyond looks..
Check out his character.
What is his character telling you about him?
Pray about it.

and the guy’s priority is not to please God in your relationship.

I say evaluate your relationship with the Lord cos He is a jealous God,
