He Got Me..

If you glance over my blog posts, you will notice I don’t share personal information or experiences.
I like to think, I am a private person but every now and then (like now..) I open up a bit.
Nothing cheesy.. Here we go.

I took a trip to another state with another person to relax.
We went to this Nigerian restaurant to eat.
While we were there waiting on our food.
This young man came in to order his food.
When I first saw him, he looked like he just got off from a hard day at work.
In other words, the way he was dressed was unattractive.

Before I knew it, he was glancing a lot over my direction..
In my head, I was like “Oga, leave that thing, you no be my type abeg.”
He started talking to the owner of the shop and I heard the intelligence that was coming out of his month.. Yea, my head turned.
Hands down, intelligence is so attractive.
His looks didn’t catch my attention but his brains did.

Morale of the story: Go to School, intelligence is attractive!!

Excuse my honesty,
I am personally not attracted to thugs.
I don’t understand why a woman would shun an educated, God-fearing man and pick a thug, who walks around sagging his pants..
I digress.

An educated, God-fearing man will always get my attention any time, any day!

Morocco is a North African country geographically close to European countries such as Spain, Portugal and France.

Somebody Stop HAZING… PLEASE!!!

I watched this video and it literally brought tears to my eyes.
I love my Nigerian-descent NFL Players, I try to keep up with a few of them.
The guy hazed in the video has been playing for the NY Giants for 2 years at the time he was hazed.
I mean, he is not a new player anymore..
so why are these players throwing him into a tub of water?

In my opinion, hazing is bullying..
I think we all need to take a stand and fight against all forms of bullying in general.

This guy is carried by two players and some guy is screaming “stand up for yourself”..
Obviously, this is bullying where the strong or outspoken prey on the soft spoken.
Watching this video, I thought he was playing along.
He comes out of this tub of water with this look on his face..
That look got me and I teared up.

How many athletes, students, and people in general have to be victims until we do something about this??

You are Responsible for the Man you Attract..

If you dress liketrashy  don’t be surprised if you attract himthugs..
…if you want a husband don’t dress like this..

There’s no way you will dress like this without attracting a Dog(sleep with you and dump you).
You will definitely get attention but for the wrong reasons.
In rare cases, some men see beyond this and still marry the lady;
however, more dogs than real men will be attracted.

Guys go to clubs to find girls to sleep with..
No guy who meets you dressed like that will take you seriously.

A man will sleep with a lose woman but he will never marry her.
If you dress like this..
men automatically think you are easy or lose..
and what man wants to marry a woman like that??

The Real Stars in our Life

Fans of singer Justin Bieber scream as he performs on NBC's Today Show in New YorkMost of us have stars we idolize.
Most guys are huge sports players fans..
*Lebron James, Tim Tebow..etc.
Most females are huge singers fans.
Hint*Justin Bieber, Usher..etc.

I am not saying you’re wrong for being a fan to anyone..

However, I think some people are extreme about these stars.
They are original people just like us who are extremely popular and good at their craft.
These people don’t know you.

We adore our stars so much that we watch them everyday..
Psychologically, our brain wants us to think that we know these people personally.

Reality Check: We don’t know these people personally and they don’t know us personally.
People get so obsessed with these people that they get so detached from reality.

The real stars in your life should be people who sacrificed to help make you who are today..
For me personally..
My parents are my real stars,

I went to school here in the states as an international student paying out-of-state school fees..
My mom worked as a nurse overtime for years without taking any vacation days to make sure I wasn’t kicked out of school.
She is in debt because she busted her butt to make sure my siblings and me got our education.
My dad would send money from Nigeria..
if you live in Nigeria and you will understand that the exchange rate from naira to dollars is not a joke..
My dad busted his butt to send me thousands of dollars from Nigeria most semesters for my school fees..
My parents are my real stars.

Every time, I see my parents.. I need to cry, screaming their name for their autograph
cos the sacrifices they made has changed my life forever.
I am a college graduate today cos my stars worked hard.
Currently, I am working in a fast food restaurant but I have hope for a better future.

However, the Ultimate Star in my life is God..
who blessed me with such hardworking, and sacrificial Stars in my life.

To God be the Glory!!

Hollywood and sports stars we adore.. don’t even know our names..
The real stars in our life are the ones who made sacrifices to make sure we are successful!
Don’t forget to Praise the Real Stars in your Life.

IT GETS BETTER!!

My friend a few yrs back was going through a tough time,
I remember telling him.
It gets better.
When I was talking to another friend about some stuff going on in my life,
it was so refreshing to hear him say “it gets better.”

We are people of faith which means we have God on our side..
So with God on our Side, it always gets better!!
Let me say that Again..
WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE, IT ALWAYS GETS BETTER.

I don’t know what you are going through..
Even if it looks bad or it’s getting worse.
Don’t forget..
WITH GOD ON YOUR SIDE, IT ALWAYS ALWAYS GETS BETTER!!

God doesn’t respond to our problems..
He responds to Faith.
If you want to move God into action..
I suggest you have Faith that IT will GET BETTER!

Videos like this one encourage me that there are still men out there who love the Lord.
I have said it before and I will say it again..
The most attractive thing in a man is God.
Guys who have hearts for God are the most attractive guys out there..HANDS DOWN!!!

I go to a small church and nothing against my Christian bros..
It is hard to see guys who passionately sing to God.
When I see it..
I love it .

We live in a world
where girls/ladies run after guys with cute faces, thugs, rich men..
The standard is low..
a lot of guys all they need is money: saggy pants, nice car with a cute face and they will automatically get the girl..

When I tell people,
I have never had a boyfriend..
their jaws drop..
Yes, I am not your typical girl…
I am a girl who has a heart for Christ with that said..
my standard has to be higher than the world’s.
Ladies of the world, their standard is based on “the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”- 1 John 2:16

The people of the world glorify looks, money, and material things
The Bible says all those things are Vanity!

Enough said..
a man who fears the Lord should be praised.
