My African Childhood Memories..

We rolled old tires everywhere!!! African kids know how to create their own fun.

We played in the rain. The way Americans in the South play in the snow when it snows..

When it rains we will go outside and play in the rain. The way Americans in the South play in the snow when it snows..

ahh.. Fun Memories!! "If you were born in January stand up"..(singing).

ahh.. Fun Memories!!
“If you were born in January stand up”..(singing).

My brother and me took turns to hold drive each other on our wheelbarrow.

My brother and me took turns to drive each other on our wheelbarrow.

We never complained about anything. We were thankful for everything.
We need to stop complaining and be more thankful.

Dear Mr. Someone,

Chai.. Where do I start? You are by far the most Amazing guy I have ever spoken to. Your heart for God and people makes you the most attractive guy I have come across on this planet. Since high school, I wrote down my kind of man. I’ve never met anyone who came close to that guy, but you proved me wrong. My kind of guy does exist. You don’t know this. After praying with you, I asked myself.. “Does God jinx people?” I couldn’t ask God this question so I asked myself. Periodically, I asked God “Lord, what is going on? How can you expect me not to like this guy? Did you bring him to see how much I love you, Lord?” I found myself praying about you in church. Thoughts of you filled my mind with the same questions. While the preacher was talking, I was questioning God “Why? What is going on?” I wish I had all the answers to all these questions. I can’t question God anymore; I just have to trust him. His will for us is so much greater than us. Help me Lord to trust you!!!

Clean Nigerian Music Videos 2014 Part 1

As a Christian it’s very important I don’t listen to everything. I love music so much especially Nigerian music. Recently, I noticed I can’t speak my native language fluently like I did ten years ago. Not speaking my native language fluently did things to me emotionally. Nigerian music helps in so many ways I can’t explain. I love being here in the States (especially with the fiasco with Boko Haram).  Nigerian music takes me back home, which makes it very special to me.

The problem with our music now is that it is getting more westernized. So we now see more Nigerian music videos with half naked girls, girls dancing as prostitutes and all sorts of nonsense. I love God so music with naked girls shaking their butts wouldn’t work for me. This list of Nigerian music videos is for Nigerians, Africans or anyone who appreciates Nigerian music without “the extras.”

Letter to one of my Friends,

Dear friend,

I cannot thank you enough for your sacrifice for me this week.
This week was tough physically and emotionally.
Of course, I had to talk to my sister.
Most importantly, I had to talk to God.
I called you up and asked you if you will sacrifice a day without food to pray for me.
You did.
I have never had a anyone do this with me.
For the first time in my life, I have a true friend.
When my sister was around, she helped me out a lot.
When love took her away, I felt all alone and empty.
Our friendship is not perfect; however, I am thankful for it.

For the first time in my life, I have a true friend.
It’s a blessing to call you my friend.
I pray God makes me a better friend to you.

A Journal to God..

Dear God,

I just got off from work. No, I am not as tired as I thought I would after working two shifts back to back.
You know why I volunteered myself to do overtime.

I thank you for the miracle you are about to give me tomorrow.  I can’t write everything I want to say to you on here because I am posting this one on my blog.
I am getting sleepy now.

No, I wouldn’t sleep yet still done talking to you.
Lord, please help me to love you more than my dreams, goals, visions, etc.
Help me to draw closer to you.
It’s crazy, I used to make more time for you in college with a busier schedule than I do now.
I know my time with you is priceless.

You are the essence of my life.
Let this heart only beat for you, oh God!
I am not done yet, but I am stopping here for the blog.
********
I got this creative idea from the book I am reading now.
Have you ever thought about starting a journal where you only write to God?
Try it!

4 Independent NIGERIAN WOMEN

This one is for my Nigerian sisters.
Don’t allow anyone force you into marriage especially when you know this person doesn’t love you and you don’t love the person.
Our culture defines women by their marital status.
That’s why a lot of women in our society are miserable in their marriages.
I rather be single and happy than married and miserable.

Culture is important but our happiness is also important.

As we all know marriage is a long term commitment.
Since marriage is a long term journey, you have to take your time with your decision.
Forget about your age and the pressure from your family.
Don’t let people plan your life and future for you.
Fight for the life you want by learning to make your own decisions.

*Please don’t make a lifelong decision hastily*

1. Don’t succumb to pressure
2. Take your time and make your own decision
3. Be honest with yourself. Does this man really love you like he claims? Does he show you he loves you? Do you love him? If he was disabled would you still love him?
4. Pray about your decision.
5. Educate yourself about love. Read books. Talk to people you know will always tell you the truth..
6. See both sides.
7. Make your decision.

We are not properties. We can make our OWN decisions without assistance!

RICH men are Overrated ..

Don’t let me wrong, I want to be with someone who can provide for his family but it is not a huge requirement that he has to be rich. Riches can buy comfort but not happiness. I don’t want a guy that is RICH in material things and poor in Character.

Read this single woman’s prayer, I found it in movie (the crazy thing is I think some women pray like this):

Father,
I need a man,
I need a real man not a small boy.
God, I need a man in my life.
A man in whose arms, I can lead on.
God,
it’s not like I am giving you condition but this man shouldn’t be poor.
See..
He should have about 2-3 cars..
Wait,
No.. 4 cars.
1 car for him and 3 cars for me.
God, You see..
He should be a tall guy nothing below 6ft with a chocolate complexion and dimple.
Please!
God please, no pot bellies.. I beg you! Six pack, Straight up!
God please.
He should be an American or British, you know what I mean?
God, that’s what’s up!
And he should be willing to give me access to his fast bank account.
God, I know you are a good God and you have heard my prayers.
That isn’t too hard for you.
Of course not because with you nothing shall be impossible..

******
Ridiculous Prayer but you’d be surprised how many women pray like this..

If you want a rich man, no problem!
Don’t settle for a rich man who treats you like crap!
Dating or marrying someone for their money is still low down too!
